Banal Tales

In Banal Tales, Thai photographer Wuthipol Ujathammarat unveils an unfamiliar aesthetic of Seoul through ordinary urban scenes in a work that curiously focuses on obscure graphic impressions. It documents an obvious and yet unappreciated urban landscape of the metropolitan where details of banal is imaginatively brought into existence.

Delicately framed with simple compositions and geometrical organisation, the photographer observes alluring trivia of everyday mundane and draws attention to its eerie aesthetic order. Inspired by visual complexity and urban palettes, it unfolds a series of illusive memoirs that favour Seoul with an artistic tale—that is the banal tales.
